LEGENDARY FOOTBALLERS - VOLKAN YAYIN

VOLKAN YAYIN (1972-1977) (5 Years)

Volkan Yayın, born in 1950 in Kocaeli-Gölcük, was playing for İzmir Denizgücü during his military service. In 1972, Göztepe wanted to transfer him and hand over the legendary captaincy from Gürsel Aksel to him. However, Altınordu President Rasih Öztürk made a smart move and brought young Volkan to Altınordu. He had an amazing left foot and a playing style that could make even Messi jealous.

Volkan Yayın played continuously in the red and yellow jersey from 1972 to 1977, standing out with his free-kick and penalty goals. In 1976, he became the first player to be selected for the Turkish national team from the Second League. Volkan Yayın wore the Altınordu jersey for 5 years and served as the team captain before transferring to Zonguldakspor, a team in the First League, in 1977.
