Ümit Kayıhan, born in İzmir in 1954, is the son of Riyaz Kayıhan, a dedicated Altınordu supporter who also served as a club administrator. He was transferred from Altay in 1982. Playing as a left-back, Ümit Kayıhan served as the team captain during his 3 seasons at Altınordu. His goal against Göztepe from 30 meters in the 1984 TSYD Cup victory is remarkable. With his experience, Ümit Kayıhan performed well in Altınordu, and he ended his football career at the club in 1985. He also took on the role of a coach afterward.
