Memduh Gezer, born on November 23, 1924, in Izmir, grew up in Basmane-Altınpark. He began playing football on the field in Altınpark and was discovered by Altınordu manager Mehmet Hancıoğlu, who brought him to Altınordu. Memduh Gezer joined Altınordu in the 1942-43 season, but a year later, he went to Kocaeli for military service as a sailor.
Returning to Altınordu in 1947, Memduh Gezer played successfully as a left winger and inside left until 1952. In 1952, he transferred to Karşıyaka, and in 1954, to İzmirspor. He returned to Altınordu for the 1955-56 season and retired from football at the end of the season. Memduh Gezer played for Altınordu for a total of 7 seasons. In the 1960s, he coached the Altınordu Youth Team and led them to the Turkish Championship in 1966.
