Matteo Vitali was known among Altınordu fans as "Endaksi (okay) Vitali." He was born on November 19, 1922, in Izmir. He is one of the unforgettable players of Altınordu. In 1942, Sait Altınordu and Nazif Çağatay, who admired his football skills on the public field, invited Vitali to Altınordu. Matteo Vitali started playing as a right winger at Altınordu in the 1942-43 season. Later, when he played better as a left half (I've never heard this term before), he moved to that position. He wore the red and navy jersey continuously for 15 years between 1942 and 1957. Vitali, who also played handball, won three consecutive championships with the Altınordu handball team in 1949, 1950, and 1951. When describing his playing career, he emphasized the amateur spirit with the words "he was a king who earned 100 lira." He retired from football in his beloved club, Altınordu. He passed away on January 4, 2021, at the age of 99.
