LEGENDARY FOOTBALLERS - MAMAKO SAİM

SAİM SEYMENER (MAMAKO) (1926 – 1929) (3 Years)

Saim Bey Basmaneli, who came to Altınordu from KSK Gençlerbirliği team in 1926, is known as Mamko Saim and is one of the most important figures in Altınordu sports history. Although he played as a footballer for a few years at Altınordu due to his age, his contributions as an administrator are invaluable. His work in the club building in Tilkilik, including the construction of a volleyball and basketball court next to the building, contributed to the progress of Altınordu. Moreover, the young athletes he brought to Altınordu from fields and schools all around Izmir would contribute to Altınordu's great achievements in various fields until 1945. Mamko Saim is the manager who firmly established the culture of sportsmanship, sporting ethics, and a sense of family unity, which were the founding principles of Altınordu, and instilled them in young athletes. Seymener, who also rose to the position of Deputy Director in the Turkish Physical Education Organization, is a symbol of Izmir sports both as an athlete and as an administrator. He passed away on October 7, 1962.
