Born in Izmir in 1934, Ekrem Koldaş started his football career at Altınordu in 1951. Thanks to his consistent performance and sportsmanship, he quickly became one of the fans' favorite players. He served as team captain for many years. He caught the attention of Istanbul clubs and after 1957, he played for five seasons at Beykoz and Beşiktaş before ending his active football career at Göztepe. Koldaş, a father of four sons, was honored with the "80-Year Loyalty Award" at an award ceremony held in Izmir to recognize football players who served the city.
